The construction of a still life space has much in common with the construction of a mise-en-scene in a theatre. It has elements of an actor’s pause, a barely audible bustle behind the scenes, a leisurely story of the presenter. Still life theater begins with the presentation of its characters, each of which has its own character, its own characteristics and its own role in the overall scenario that the director builds. Objects “interact” first in the author’s, and then in the viewer’s imagination. However, they huddle in a very small area. The still life space necessitates such close interaction. In his magical theater, an eternal pause is played out, and the action occurs only in the imagination.
